Alexis Wyndham is the Queen Bitch. She has a blog where she exposes the injustice in her school. She exposes the truth related to students and faculty. She is ruthless and her ruthlessness makes everyone fear her.
Everything is is going how it usually does: people cowering and straying from her, bitching with the other Queen B/Ex-BFF, and falling for Mr. Perfect Quarter back. Wait what?!
This book isn't entirely about teen romance, well 70-75% is... But, there's actually a plot to this story. There's a guy posting x-rated videos of girls in the locker room and they're looking for the culprit. The last 25-30% of the book is almost entirely focused on finding the culprit. The culprit is pretty surprising. You kinda expect it from the clue the culprit dropped, but it was still shocking.
This book wasn't bad. It was very interesting and the characters where very intelligent. It wasn't another teenage romance book. The conversations had substance and depth, but it's no super serious like John Green's books. Brett gets under Alexis' skin, but not only from making sexual remarks. He gets into her head like a psychologist. He's trying to bring out the nice person in Alexis. It was like watching old bickering, married doctors. They may fight, but they like each other on a certain level.
Another reason why this book isn't like other teen romance books is that it doesn't include the typical cliche we're exposed to-the Jock isn't stupid. He's not a complete meat head, he's really nice to everybody, he doesn't support bullying and football isn't the only priority in his life. He's cares about a life and career besides football.
The writing was compelling. It was was humorous and fun. The things that some of these characters say and think-ridiculous...in a good way.
The book had a gay character named Richard...omg...I can't even with him. He is the best thing, along with Brett. If you liked the Patrick from Perks of Being a Wallflowers, read this book and meet Richard. P.S. He likes Johnny Weir and Adam Lambert!
Growing up in small town Alabama, Crista relied on story-telling as a natural way for her to pass the time and keep her two younger sisters entertained.
She currently lives in the Audi-filled suburbs of Seattle with her husband and two children, maintaining her alter ego of mild-mannered physician by day while she continues to pursue writing on nights and weekends.
Just for laughs, here are some of the jobs she’s had in the past to pay the bills: barista, bartender, sommelier, stagehand, actress, morgue attendant, and autopsy assistant.
And she’s also a recovering LARPer. (She blames it on her crazy college days)
